One thing I wish I had done as a kid was to attend more summer camps. I used to watch "Salute Your Shorts", a television show set at a summer camp, and wish that I could be there. The few camps that I went to were so memorable and fun. I want my daughter to have those experiences too.

One of the more memorable camps I went to was the Outdoor School held during the school year for 6th graders. We all got to take a week from school and go to camp! In between all the fun activities like capture the flag, and hiking, we were actually learning. We had fun science classes outdoors and were shown how science could be applied in every day life, not just in the classroom setting. It was such a neat bonding experience and one that I wish I could have experienced again by attending more camps. I am glad that ParentClick does a special summer camp guide.
